Commission a Custom Work

There is a unique gravity in creating a piece of art that has a home waiting for it. Whether you are seeking a detailed study of a specific aircraft or vessel, or a large-scale abstract to anchor a room, I welcome the opportunity to bring your vision to life through the lens of my experience.

The Commission Process

1 . Inquiry & Consultation - Start the conversation
Use the form below to share your requirements. Please consider the desired dimensions, any specific naval/military subjects, and your timeline. I will respond within three business days with a preliminary quote.

2 . Contract & Deposit - Securing your window
Once we agree on the scope, we will sign a formal commission agreement. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your place in my studio schedule.

3 . Concept & Palette - Defining the vision
I will provide a digital mood board and color palette. If the work is for a specific interior, I encourage you to share paint swatches or fabric samples at this stage to ensure tonal harmony.

4. The Creative Phase - 4 to 8 weeks
I often paint two versions of your commission simultaneously. This allows for a greater range of expression and gives you the opportunity to select the piece that resonates most deeply with you.

5 . Review & Refinement - The 90% milestone
I will share high-resolution progress photos when the work is near completion. This is your opportunity to provide feedback—whether on color balance or structural details—before I apply the final varnish and signature.

Delivery & Framing
Unless otherwise requested, all commissions are executed on 1.5” gallery-wrapped canvas and finished in a minimalist raw maple strip frame, ready for immediate display.

  • Shipping: Paintings up to 48” x 48” are shipped via insured courier.
  • Large-Scale Works: For oversized canvases, I utilize specialized art shipping services to ensure safe transit. Alternatively, works can be shipped unstretched (rolled in a tube) to be finished by your local professional framer.

Preliminary Inquiry
To help me understand your vision, please include the following in your message:

  • Subject: (e.g., Specific Ship/Aircraft, Abstract, or Nature)
  • Dimensions: What size canvas does your space require?
  • Favorite Work: Which of my existing paintings most closely matches the "energy" you want?
  • Deadline: Is this for a specific event or installation date?
  • Location: For a precise shipping quote, please include your zip/postal code.

Note on Deposits:
While deposits are non-refundable, should you choose not to proceed with the final painting, your deposit remains a credit that can be applied to any other original work currently available in the gallery.

While I strive to accommodate every vision, I reserve the right to decline commission requests that fall outside my artistic expertise or professional values. My goal is to ensure that every commission I undertake is one where I can deliver the highest standard of quality and authentic expression; if a request is not the right fit for my studio’s aesthetic or technical direction, as also logistical or commercial considerations, I will communicate this promptly to respect your time and project goals.
